About the event

August 7, 10:00am, Gingerbread Cottage Tour.

To Check In, please go to the front of the Tabernacle to recieve your wristband for the tour.

Visit the interiors of six distinctive cottages, including Bishop Gilbert Haven's cottage.  Bishop Haven was a Civil Right Leader who hosted President Ulysses S Grant for 4 nights in August, 1874 on his visit to Martha's Vineyard, this year marking the 150th anniversary of this visit.

The six cottages may be visited in any order at your own pace, and you may begin at any time following 10:00 AM, though we recommend allotting at least 2-2.5 hours for your visit.

Your ticket also includes admission to the cottage museum, information regarding President Grant’s visit and the role it played in civil rights history, and delightful homemade tea sandwiches and desserts at the MVCMA Tabernacle.

Tickets are $35 if purchased online in advance of the event. Day-of-tour tickets may be purchased in person at the Tabernacle for $40.

Notes: Last tickets will be sold at 2:00pm. Tour available to visitors age 10 and over. No photography permitted inside the cottages.

MVCMA leaseholders will find instructions for picking up a day-of discount coupon in the August 2nd Digital Crier.
